|
Session I: June 6-11, 2008
Session II: June 12-17, 2008
Location & Boats
Sailing and lectures will take place at the College of Charleston sailing center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The CofC fleet of collegiate 420s and FJs will be used. Clinic participants will have the opportunity to sail at one of the best college sailing sites in our fleet of boats.
Curriculum & Instructors
The focus of the clinic will be on collegiate-style racing, including boat handling, speed, starting, tactics, rules, team racing, and much more. The clinic will be coached by two of the top collegiate coaches in the country, Ward Cromwell and Nick Ewenson from CofC, along with other top college sailors.
Food & Housing
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided at the college cafeteria or sailing center. Sailors will stay in dorms on the CofC campus in downtown Charleston. Instructors will be in the dorms. All local transportation is provided and mandatory. Evening activities are included for those who stay in the dorms.
Eligibility & Entry
Each session will be limited to 24 sailors total, allowing plenty of individual instruction. Since the number of participants is limited, application by resumé is required. It is strongly recommended that sailors apply as skipper/crew pairs. However, those who need a skipper or crew will be matched. Applicants must be 13 years or older. The registration fee is $750 per sailor.
